Idea & Concepts
The concept of Falbehe, Children of the Island (Cerita Anak Pulau) was a creative initiative to inspire the children who live in the Kei Islands, Moluccas, who strive to create resilience in the present day of rapid social and environmental changes.
When I spent 4 years living with the community, we formed a group of youths who aspire to be catalysts in the nation, with positive impacts on our families, community, and generation. These children strive to recover their farmland, they want to contribute to the welfare of their families. I tried to explore creative ideas to conserve our pristine nature, and documenting our stories in unique ways. This was where the idea of publishing children’s storybooks took form.
The stories in Cerita Anak Pulau are all true-life experiences. Directly told and written by them. We present them with pictures and illustrations in a storybook format. As I directed them to do the illustration, the process of making the book was full of excitement both from me and these children.
We send these books out with love to all the children all over the world, hoping that you can see the life values and testimonies that we have acquired as the people of the province of a thousand islands. We hope that our experiences will inspire you to always think positively in life and believe that within each of us -though we are young- God has bestowed large gifts on us so we can share goodness with other human beings and with all nature.
The idea of the logo was a face of a child in a form of a word bubble. As they tell their story, their memories and focus are the environments where they live: the ocean, the hills, the earth along with their local fauna. Yellow was chosen to represent happiness.

From all this process I learned how to know more about myself and that I can create something. I was mentored, coached, loved. Now my way is open to a better life, in my finance, in character, and in my spiritual life. I have hope.

The experiences given to the children had built up confidence within them. They can see many things God had stored in their lives now. It was eye-opening. How to teach children by walking with them. The books had helped them see something special about them.

Lisa was quite involved in reaching out and mentoring the indigenous. She is very responsible. The people seem to be so comfortable and open to her. They dare to dream, finding their destinies, and make it happen. The discipleship lifestyle had been happening.
